I've been following Ken Davis and the excellent work he is doing to help everyday folk like you and me become better communicators. NOT just public speakers, but anyone who does any form of communication can get better. Here's a recent post from Ken:

Being a communicator isn’t easy. And getting the message “out there” to those who need it is half the problem. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce a new resource by our friend and partner, Michael Hyatt.

Today is the official launch day for his amazing new book for anyone with something to say or sell. It’s called Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World. This holds huge possibilities for communicators of every kind. After all, we have something to say!

“I have watched Michael Hyatt build his own platform from the ground up to become one of the largest in the world. And he has done so with the strategies and tips he outlines in this very practical book. Any author, speaker, or business owner who wants a blueprint for getting the attention and visibility they want, needs to read this book.” —JOHN C. MAXWELL

To be successful in the market today, you must possess two strategic assets: a compelling product (a message) and a meaningful platform. It has never been easier, less expensive, or more possible than right now to build your platform and Michael Hyatt will show you how.

Platform offers a step-by-step guide with proven strategies, practical tips and easy-to-replicate formulas. Whether you are an author, pastor, public speaker, entrepreneur, musician, or small business owner… developing your platform is critical for your success.

BONUS OFFER: To celebrate the launch of the book this week, Michael is giving away $375.98 worth of free bonus content for those who purchase the book between May 21 and May 25. Complete details are available at http://michaelhyatt.com/platform

Do you have a plan for your life? I know, it smacks of the old evangelism saying: "God has a wonderful plan for your life." But seriously - he does.

Ever feel like you're in exile? Like things just aren't going the way you thought they would? Ever take the time to look back and evaluate where you are now compared to where you thought you'd be? Financially, professionally, family, health (or lack thereof), spiritually, relationships, and more - ever look over those areas of your life to see how you're doing?

In Jeremiah 29, God speaks through the prophet to those who now find themselves in exile. And in v11 he says this: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." See, it's NOT evangelist psycho-speak. God really DOES have a plan for your life.

The key is getting your plan for your life lined up witih God's plan for your life. There are several tools out there that can help you do that. One is the Focus Unleashed Weekend hosted by the Lilfe Purpose Coaching Center in Roswell. Click the link the the left for more info. Another comes from an entirely different vein.

I've been following Michael Hyatt, his blog and his writings for some time now. I appreciate his openness and willingness to be transparent and share what he's dealing with at the moment. Michael has ceated an e-book called "Creating Your Personal Life Plan."  For a limited time, you can a FREE copy just by visiting his blog and subscribing to receive his email updates. So click HERE, check out his blog, and get a FREE copy of his e-book. I did recently and I find the plan he has developed easy to use and dead on spiritually. He even includes, also for FREE, a Template to put your life plan together AND a spreadsheet to do annual planning! Both great tools and well worth the cost - FREE! (for a limited time only)

So enough of my trying to get you to visit his blog - just go do it. Paul tells the Ephesian church, and it applies to us today as well, "{That} we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10  Here's the thing I learned: when I get my plans for my life in line with God's plans for my life, it's like I'm firing on all cylinders and life is good.

To borrow from an old TV commercial - "Try it, you'll like it." Let me know how it goes for you.
