| How does Grace DO fellowship?Since fellowship is all about relationships, only the imagination and time will restrict the kind of opportunities that you have to nourish true biblical fellowship at Grace. Authentic fellowship is a command (1 Peter 3:8-9), so we choose to be led by some values that are expressed in action:
First, we value cultivating friendships of blessing. Have you ever noticed how many "one-another" verses (ie: love one another, encourage one another, bear one another's burdens, etc.) there are in the Bible? There's a lot! And that means we have to be committed to developing authentic friendships where we can glorify God through our obedience to those commands. Small Encouraging Groups happen spontaneously every day and at all times; these are very personal and takes time to develop. We encourage spontaneous, fellowship-building-focused get-togethers as often as possible. Second, we value experiencing community in small groups. This goes hand-in-hand with cultivating friendships, but it's more. We really believe that God shapes and transforms our character within the bonds of small groups. We're not a club. We're a family. Like any family, we'll learn to like each other, dislike each other, be comforted, get frustrated, receive peace, shed tears, share joys, and stay with each other, because we love each other - and that's what family does. Third, we value the ministry of the Body of Christ. At Grace, we follow the Biblical mandate that Pastors shall equip the Church for Ministry, and letting the Church, filled and gifted by The Holy Spirit, to minister to each other. We believe this is God's plan - most glorifying to him, and most fulfilling for us! We're careful in its administration, but around here, we're proud of motto we ascribe to: "Every Member is a Minister". To check out Grace's Membership Covenant, click HERE. |
