DivorceCare for Kids is a special group to help children heal from the hurt caused by the separation or divorce of their parents. At our weekly DC4K group, kids make friends with other kids who understand how they feel and the things they are going through because of the divorce of their parents. Best of all, children will learn how God's love can strengthen them and help turn tears to hope and joy!

Our DC4K group meets weekly in 13-week cycles. We combine games, crafts, activities, music and DVD dramas to create a fun atmosphere where children feel comfortable and accepted. They look forward to each time their DC4K "family" gets together.
Ages: DC4K is designed for children ages 5-12.
Family Support: DivorceCare for Kids is structured to replicate a large family environment. Children from the same family are kept together because they often look to each other for security during the divorce experience.
Parent involvement: Parents are encouraged to be involved with their children as the children go through DC4K. Each parent will receive a weekly "Parent Page" describing what the child has learned and offering tips to strengthen the parent/child relationship, creating stronger bonds in the single parent family.
DivorceCare connectivity: DC4K follows the same age-appropriate themes as the adult DivorceCare program, allowing parents and children to progress through the healing process together and providing a springboard for meaningful discussions.
Content: DC4K is nondenominational and features biblical teaching to help children recover from the hurt of separation and divorce.
DC4K will run concurrently with DivorceCare and will begin meeting on Tuesday, January 31, in Room 101 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The seminar is held in Room 101.

It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you've lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you‘ve probably found that there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. That’s the reason for GriefShare, a special seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. This group is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.
How GriefShare works
GriefShare is a nondenominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. Each GriefShare session includes a video seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects. These videos also include on-location settings and the real-life stories of people who have experienced losses like yours. After viewing the video, you’ll participate in a small group discussion about what you’ve seen. You’ll also have the opportunity to interact with others who have experienced a recent loss, learn about their experiences and have the opportunity to share your own.
When to join a GriefShare group
You are welcome to begin attending the GriefShare group at any point during the 13-week session. Each is “self-contained,” so you do not have to attend in sequence. You will find encouragement and help whenever you begin. You will be able to continue with GriefShare through the next 13-week session and to view any of the videos you have not seen.
To register for any of the above support groups meeting at Grace Community Church, please contact Nelda Massey at 623-5438 or nmassey@4grace.org.
